Custom fields for dossier item type

You can extend dossier item types with custom fields, so that you can add company-specific data to the dossier items. These custom fields are placed on tabs you can also add yourself.

You can use custom fields for up to 40 dossier item types. This is only possible for the types you add yourself, not for the dossier item types supplied with Profit. The supplied dossier item types are identified by a negative code (for example -5) and the addition of (Profit) to the name.

To add custom fields to a dossier item type:

1. Go to: CRM / Dossier / Configuration / Dossier item type.
2. Open the properties of the dossier item type..
3. Go to the tab: Settings.
4. Select the Use custom fields check box.
5. Click on: OK. 

   In the view, Profit displays the name of the linked table with custom fields:

   

6. Go to: General / Management / Management tool.
7. Open the Dossier function group.
8. Click on Yes in the message.
9. In Description, select the line with the linked table.
10. Add custom fields. View the description here.

To delete a dossier item type with a custom configuration:

Up until Update 2016.2.04, you could not delete a dossier item type with a custom configuration.

 Go to: General / Management / Management tool.

1. Open the Dossier function group.
2. Open the dossier item type with custom fields.
3. Delete the custom tabs and the custom fields.
4. Close the Management tool.
5. Open the environment again.
6. Delete the dossier items of the dossier item type you want to delete.
7. Delete all links to the dossier item type. A dossier item type can, for example, still be linked to a workflow or an alert, in which case you have to delete these links.
8. Go to: CRM / Dossier / Configuration / Dossier item type.
9. Delete the dossier item type.
