Configure a campaign

Configuring a campaign consists of adding the campaign and the campaign actions.

Description

Before adding a campaign, you set the dossier item type and determine the target group. In the properties of the campaign, you also add the fixed costs (such as personnel costs).

Example:

You add the 'Special discount for leads' campaign. You call the target group you select from the database of prospects the 'Special selection'.

As a first campaign action, you send the Special selection a letter with a leaflet in which you comment on the discount.

As a second campaign action, you send a reminder e-mail.

Procedure

  • Set the dossier item type

If you perform a campaign action, Profit automatically adds dossier items to the contact persons belonging to the target group. You decide the type of the dossier item. If you set the dossier item type correctly (and expand it with, for example, custom fields), the dossier items based on that type are the best means to monitor the progress of the campaign.

  • Determine the target group

There are three ways to determine the target group for the campaign and to link it to the campaign action.

  • Add a document layout when sending a mailing

Add a new document layout as letter and merge it for the mailing. The layout must be suitable for dossier items and, if you want to send a personalised letter, for contact persons.

  • Add a campaign

You add the budget for the campaign, the goal and other important properties of the campaign.

  • Add a campaign action

    You add the campaign actions.

  • Link a target group to an action

There are several ways to select a target group. Each of these ways links the group to the campaign action in a different way.

  • Generate a campaign action

When you generate a campaign action, you add the dossier items to all organisations and/or persons in the target group.

  • Estimate campaign costs

For each campaign action you add the expected fixed and variable costs (per unit).
