E-mail address requirements

When you save new contacts and change existing contacts, the following message may appear: The specified email address does not match the required format.

The check is performed on all e-mail addresses present for the organisation and/or person.

Note:

E-mail addresses are often copied and pasted into the field in Profit. This often includes an undesirable space at the end of the e-mail address. The check on the correctness of e-mail addresses has been tightened, which causes this message to be displayed. Delete the e-mail address and enter it manually. Alternatively, in the field with the e-mail address, use the arrow keys to go all the way to the right and then use the backspace key to remove any redundant spaces you find at the end.

A correct e-mail address:

  • Contains an at sign (@), but this is not the first character
  • Contains at least one period after the at sign
  • Contains at least one character between the at sign and the period
  • Contains at least two characters after the period
  • Before the at sign, uses characters in the ranges (a-z), (A-Z), (0-9) and/or !#$&.+-=_
  • After the at sign, uses characters in the ranges (a-z), (A-Z), (0-9), period and/or the minus sign
  • Contains no more than 64 characters between the at sign and the period
