Add fixed journal entries

When you are adding the fixed journal entry, you specify the settings and the journal entry you want to generate.

Note:

You cannot create a project entry directly from the fixed journal entry because Profit then immediately creates the project entry for every entry.

However, after you add the fixed journal entry you can change the entry you created and then create the project entry.

To add a fixed journal entry:

  1. Go to: Financial / Enter / Fixed journal entry.
  2. Click on: New.
  3. Enter a code for the fixed journal entry.
  4. Enter the description.
  5. Enter the financial year and the period from which the fixed journal entry must be generated.

As of this financial year and period, you can generate a fixed journal entry for every period.

Select the financial year and the period up to and including in which the fixed journal entry must be generated, if applicable.

Entering the upper limit is not mandatory. If you enter the upper limit, Profit determines the number of journal entries to be generated.

    Example:

You want to add a fixed journal entry for all depreciation entries. The amounts apply to the current year. This is why you use a term of validity from January of the current year up to the end of December of the current year.

Due to new investments, the amounts will change effective January of the next year. This is why you add a new fixed journal entry for the depreciations for the next year later.

  6. Click on: Finish.

Profit opens the entry layout for the fixed journal entry.

  7. Enter the journal entry. Please refer to the explanation of entries for further instructions.

During the generation process Profit copies the entry line as you enter it here.

  8. Click on: Finish.
