Amber alert on the site

You can display an 'Amber alert' notification on the site.

Via Twitter, Facebook, PC screen savers, website banners, etc., the AMBER Alert system is used hundreds of times a year when children go missing. About four times a year an actual AMBER Alert is sent. In that case the ENTIRE system is put into service, because the police fear that the life of a missing or abducted child is in danger. In that case, the entire country becomes one giant 'missing' poster, as billboards, motorway signs, apps, SMS and e-mail are also put into service.

If you enable the Show banner for AMBER Alert on site in case of a missing child option in the site, your site will automatically display a message about the missing child in case of an AMBER alert. This is the message that is shown on the site of AMBER Alert Nederland.

For a local installation, you must allow the following URL on the web server (for AFAS Online this is not necessary): http://alert.amberalertnederland.nl

To show an Amber alert:

  1. Log on and start Site management.
  2.  Click on: Layout.
  3. Go to the tab: Favourites.
  4. Select the Show banner for AMBER Alert on site in case of a missing child check box.
  5. Click on: Modify.
