Add the Course menu item

The site administrator adds a menu item for Courses to the site. The course pages and overviews are grouped under this menu.

To add the Course menu item:

1. Log on and start Site management.
   1. Open the site.
   2. Log on with the username and password.
   3. Click on: OK.
   4. Click on the user name at the top right.

      

   5. Click on: Site management.

2. Click on: Log on.
3. Click on: Menu in the Site frame.
4. Click on: New. You do this at the location in the menu under which you want to add the Cursus menu item.

   If you want to add the menu item to the menu bar, click New in the menu bar.

5. Enter the description.
6. Select the actionRefer to existing page.
7. Select the page just added.
8. Click on: Next.
9. Select the page type.
10. Click on: Add.

    You can add references to the courses to this page. This can be done via:

    Sub-menu

    You add a menu item using the site's management menu. You place the menu behind or under an existing menu item.

    To add a menu item:

    1. Log on and start Site management.
       1. Open the site.
       2. Log on with the username and password.
       3. Click on: OK.
       4. Click on the user name at the top right.

          

       5. Click on: Site management.

    2.  Click on: Menu in the Site frame.

       Click on: New item.

    3. Enter the description that you want to appear in the menu.
    4. In Action, specify the kind of menu item you want to add:
       • Create new submenu

         This is not mandatory. A submenu is not linked to a page; a submenu is only used to structure the menu.

       • Refer to existing page

         You include an existing page in the menu, so users can get to this page via the menu.

       • Refer to external link

         You include a link to an external page, for example to the http://www.afas.nl site.

       • New page

         You have several options to create a new page and immediately include it in the menu. In the windows that are displayed, you enter the data.

    5. Click on: Add.
    6. Drag the item to the correct position.
    7. Close the menu. The site menu is updated immediately.

    Hyperlinks

    You can add a link to another page at various places, one of which is via a related reference. You can group the various links together by assigning them in a group. You can add related references at each level in the menu.

    To add a related reference:

    In this example you add a related reference on the Nieuws page to the Historie page.

    1. Log on and start Site management.
       1. Open the site.
       2. Log on with the username and password.
       3. Click on: OK.
       4. Click on the user name at the top right.

          

       5. Click on: Site management.

    2. Open the page to which you want to add a related reference.
    3. Click on: Edit (in the Page frame).
    4. Click on: Properties.
    5. Select the Apply context check box if this is not yet the case!

       If you do not select this check box, the related references are not displayed.

    6. Scroll to the bottom of the properties screen.
    7. Click on: New under the Related references heading.
    8. Select the page to which you want to create a related reference.

    1. Select the page Historie.

    1. If necessary, select the group in which you want to display the reference. You can choose from:
       • Banner menu level 2

         The linked image appears in the left column of the page.

       • Directly to

         The text of the reference appears as a link in the right column of the page. You can add up to five direct to links.

       • Related site

         You use a related site, for example, if you have a website in a number of languages. The link is then displayed top right on the page.

       • Main banner

         The image is displayed in the banner at the top of the page

         For both Banner menu level 2 and Main banner, you are obliged to link an image; otherwise, nothing is displayed.

         If you have entered a 'Text banner' in the properties of the page then it is displayed with the original text. The same applies for the original image.

    1. In this example you select Go directly to forPlace in group.

    1. If you want, you can enter an alternative text for the related reference.
    2. Click on: Afbeelding toevoegen for Deviating image.
    3. Click on: Afbeelding kiezen.
    4. Click on: Create.
    5. Click on: Create.
    6. Click on: Save draft.
    7. Click on: Exit edit in the Page frame.
    8. Click on: Log off.

    1. Click on: News.

       Note:

       If you add a page based on an existing page, the related references are copied from the existing page.

    More information:

    • Why do I no longer see a header, menu and login screen on the page?

      This is because the page is set to 'Full Screen'. This means that the header, menu, and login facility are not displayed.

      You can resolve this issue by restoring the full screen setting. Alternatively, you can log on using the following link (example): https://sitename.nl/admin.
