Configure the chain of wage components

Wage components can be linked to each other in such a way that one wage component passes a value on to another. That is what we call a 'wage component line'.

Example:

You post the number of overtime hours to the 'Overuren 150%' wage component, but the calculation of the amount takes place in the 'Overwerk 150%' wage component. The 'Overuren 150%' wage component passes its value (the number of overtime hours) on to 'Overwerk 150%'.

Profit only journalises the wage components that Profit uses to calculate the amount. You do not journalise the wage component on which you post the hours. Because of this, Profit only includes the calculated amount in the journal entry, not the number of hours the amount is based on. You can add numbers to journal entries by defining an extra link.

Example:

Profit only journalises the 'Overwerk 150%' wage component. That is because the 'Overuren 150%' wage component has the setting Do not journalise. In the 'Overwerk 150%' wage component, you use the Field for quantity field to link the 'Overuren 150%' wage component as a parameter.

To configure the chain of wage components:

  1. Go to: HR / Organisation / CLA.
  2. Open the CLA properties.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage component.
  4. Open the properties of the wage component.
  5. Go to the tab: Journalising.
  6. In Field for quantity, select the parameter that passes on the value that you want to see in the journal entry.
  7. Click on: OK.
