Price/discount level structure (purchase)

Depending on the level at which you record a price, Profit determines the price to apply if you add a (basic) order, goods receipt or invoice.

You see the structure used for determining the correct price in the following diagram:

Purchase contact promotional price and Purchase contact price

You can add promotional prices in the purchase contact properties. Promotional prices are prices that are valid for a particular period. You therefore add these promotional prices with a start date and an end date. The promotional price for the purchase contact is the highest level of all purchase price types.

You can add purchase prices in the purchase contact properties. The prices you add here are prices that you have agreed with the purchase contact. Profit adds the pricefor the purchase contact at the second level. If no valid promotional price is present for the purchase contact then Profit uses this price.

Price list price and Price list promotional price

You can add prices and promotional prices to a price list. The prices in a price list only apply for the purchase contacts who are linked to the price list.

The price in the price list is added at the fifth level. If no valid prices are present at a higher level then Profit uses this price.

Profit adds the price list promotional price at the third level. If no valid prices are present at a higher level then Profit uses this valid promotional price from the price list.

Promotional price

A promotional price is a general promotional price. Profit does not add these promotional prices for a specific purchase contact or for a group of purchase contacts (price list), but they are valid for all purchase contacts. Profit adds the Promotional price at the fourth level. If no valid promotional prices are present at a higher level then Profit uses the valid Promotional price.

Purchase price

You add the purchase price as the basic price for your items. If no valid prices are present at a higher level then Profit uses the Purchase price. If no purchase price is added then no price is used. In this case, you need to enter a price yourself when adding a (basic) order, goods receipt or invoice.

Combination of prices and discounts

Firstly, the valid price is retrieved in accordance with the above diagram. Next, Profit checks to see if a discount is allowed for the price used. If a discount is allowed, Profit retrieves the valid discount in accordance with the above diagram. If a discount is not allowed for the price used then no discount will be retrieved even if a discount is present.
