Change the administrator

The administrator can also record another administrator or change the administrator password.

You added the administrator when you started Profit for the first time after the installation. You can see the name of the administrator by going to Options / Log on as administrator in the login window.

Note:

Please bear in mind the following points when appointing a new administrator.

  • The user you enter here must be present in all the existing environments, as this user is not automatically added to existing environments.
  • The new administrator is, however, automatically added to each new environment as a user.

To change the administrator:

  1. Start Profit.
  2. Go to: Options / Log on as administrator.

    Profit shows the user name of the administrator. You added this administrator when you started up Profit for the first time after installation.

  3. Enter the administrator's password.
  4. Click on: OK.
  5. Go to: Management / Change administrator.
  6. Click on: Next.
  7. Select the new administrator.
  8. Enter the password and confirm it.
  9. Click on: Example.

To change the administrator without logging on as administrator:

Should it no longer be possible to retrieve the administrator password (for example, if the application administrator has left), you can change the administrator via the following procedure.

  1. Log on to the application server or the Windows computer on which Profit is installed as a user who has (domain) administrator permissions.
  2. Start the Profit client on this server.
  3. Click on Options / Change administrator in the login window.
  4. Select the new administrator.
  5. Enter the password and confirm it.
  6. Click on: Finish.
