View the log

You view the entries that Profit has made in the log.

If certain entries are not logged, then you must adjust the configuration.

To view the log:

  1. Go to: .
  2. Select the view.

    Profit displays a view with logged data:

    • The new value in a field (for add or change).
    • The old value in a field (for delete and change).
    • The date and time the entry was added.
    • The user that posted the entry.

    Note: 

    For custom fields to which a custom table has been linked, the old and new values are not shown in the log. Profit does in fact display a line indicating that an entry has taken place.

    In this situation, you can still retrieve the new value in a report or analysis. The report or analysis must be based on one of the data collections Entry overview (incl. authorisation) or Entry overview (incl. authorisation).

    By default, a number of function fields are present in this data collection, for example Field (label). This is the name of the field in the window. For example, if Profit has logged a change of the Organisational unit field for an employee, the Field column contains the value Organisational unit. These are values in the language of the user on which you cannot filter effectively.
