Add an analysis

A large number of default analyses is supplied with Profit. These analyses have the designation '(Profit)' in their name. You cannot change the default analyses. You can, however, copy an analysis and change the copy. In addition, you can add a new analysis based on data collections of your choice.

Copying a (default) analysis is usually the easiest method. You can first test the existing analysis and quickly determine which changes are required. For this test, you use the data collections linked to the analysis, but you can also add, change or delete data collections.

If you do not want to copy an existing analysis, add a new analysis based on one or more data collections. In that case you start with an empty analysis that you must fill and format.

Note:

An analysis can refer to multiple data collections, but only one data collection can use pre-entry.

Procedure
  • New analysis based on a data collection

If you have added a view, you can add an analysis based on that view. You cannot add an analysis that is based on a view that was supplied with Profit.

  • Copy an existing analysis

You create a new analysis based on an existing analysis. You can use one of the supplied default analyses or another analysis that you created earlier.

  • Add an analysis based on a view

If you have added a view, you can add an analysis based on that view. You cannot add an analysis that is based on a view that was supplied with Profit.
