Lay out a sub-report

You add the fields that you want to show to the sub-report.

It may be necessary to first change the data collection of the sub-report. In the sub-report you also specify the formatting of fields and sections. This is not different from laying out a report.

In the main report, you determine the size of the sub-report. If the sub-report is not wide enough, you have to widen the sub-report in the main report. This does not apply to the height. Profit can dynamically change the height of the sub-report when you view it.

To specify the size and display of the sub-report:

  1. Open the sub-report.

  2. If necessary, adjust the size. The sub-report cannot be wider than the width you have specified for the main report.
  3. Right-click on the sub-report and click on Properties.
  4. Select the Increase acc. to contents check box if you want Profit to dynamically increase the sub-report when it is viewed. This means that Profit will automatically enlarge the sub-report (increase the height), if necessary, so that all data is shown.
  5. On the Frame tab set the outline for the sub-report.
