VAT rate groups and rates
For each country, you have VAT rate groups containing date-dependent rates. Some of these are provided. You can also add rate groups and rates yourself.
Description
You must use different VAT rates depending on the kind of service or product you are providing. VAT rates may also change over the course of time. For this reason, in Profit, you have the VAT rate groups, such as 'High' and 'Low', and separate VAT rates whose actual percentages are fixed. A rate group does not have a start or end date. A rate does. A rate group can contain multiple rates with different start dates.
For each Item (article, work type or costs) you must record the rate group into which it falls for each individual country. This is copied over when you add an order line, for instance. You can however still change it in the order line. Because you are linking to a rate group and not to a specific rate, you do not have to reset all of the items in case of a rate change.
