View an organisation chart

The organisation chart in Profit shows the relationships between the parts of an organisation. Because over time the organisation can change and grow, you can maintain different organisation chart structures (versions), each with their own term of validity.

If you add a new organisation chart structure, you then also add the new job lines with the same start date for the employee.

To view the organisation chart:

  1. Go to: HR / Organisation / Organisation chart.
  2. Open the organisation chart.

Profit shows a tree structure for the organisation chart.

The number next to the organisational unit indicates the layer. In the example is on layer 3 and the holding on layer 0.

  3. Click on: to view the organisational unit types.

    HrmOrgChrtView

On the right, you now see which layers are present.

  4. Click on: to display the unlinked available organisational units you have added on the right.
  5. You expand the entire structure using and collapse the structure using .
  6. You consult employees in the tree structure using the button .

    Note:

The employees are always on layer 9 in the organisation chart. All managers are on the higher layers (0, 1, 2 and 3). This distinction is especially relevant for the filter authorisation.

  7. You can use the Reference date to view the employees employed on a specific date:
    1. Click again on to hide the employees.

The Reference date is now available again.

    2. Enter the date.
    3. Click the button circled in red in the image above once more.
  8. Right-click an organisational unit.
  9. Click on: Properties.
  10. Go to the tab: Employees.

You see all the employees of the opened organisational unit and any underlying organisational units.

  1. Click on: OK.

To block an organisational unit:

It is possible that an organisational unit is no longer used. You cannot delete such an organisational unit, because that would also delete all historic data. If you want to exclude a unit from the search views, you block it.

Note:

The view must include the 'Blocked' field to no longer show the blocked organisational unit. If this field is not present in the view by default, create a new view for this purpose.

To block an organisational unit:

  1. Open the organisation chart again.
  2. Right-click an organisational unit.
  3. Click on: Properties.
  4. Select the Blocked check box.
  5. Click on: OK.
