Employee job with position allocation

You can specify a position allocation per job for the cost allocation in Profit Payroll. In this position allocation, you can also link a position for the management of positions.

If you use the 'Employee authorisation based on position allocation' activation, the employee must have a position line with the organisational unit from the job line for each job line. This can be a position line for 0%. Profit uses the below rules to ensure that a position line is present under each job line:

  • Report the start of employment

When reporting the start of the employment of an employee, you select the organisational unit and job. Profit then automatically adds a 100% position line with this organisational unit and job.

  • New job line, whereas the previous line had one 100% position line.

An employee is given a new job. The previous job line had one position line with the organisational unit and job of the job line. If you add a new job line, Profit automatically adds a 100% position line with the new organisational unit and job.

    Example:

An employee has the job of Administratief medewerker within the Administratie department. Under the job line the employee has one 100% position line with this job and the associated organisational unit.

The employee gets a new job: Inkoper within the Inkoop department. For this, you add a new job line. Under the new job line, Profit automatically adds one 100% position line with the new job and organisational unit.

  • New job line, whereas the previous line had multiple position lines

Profit copies the position lines to the new job line. If the new organisational unit does not occur in these position lines. Profit adds a position line of 0% for this.

    Example:

An employee has the job of Administratief medewerker within the Administratie department. The employee has the following position lines under the job line:

    - 50%-job as Administratief medewerker in the Administratie department

    - 50%-job as Magazijnbeheerder bij de afdeling Magazijn

The employee gets a new job: Inkoper within the Inkoop department. For this, you add a new job line. Profit copies the old position allocation to the new job line and adds a 0% line for the new organisational unit:

- 50%-job as Administratief medewerker in the Administratie department

- 50%-job as Magazijnbeheerder bij de afdeling Magazijn

- 0% job as Inkoper in the Inkoop department

You can always modify the position lines added or copied by Profit if you bear the main rule in mind: for each job line the employee must have a position line with the organisational unit from the job line.  This can be a position line of 0%. If the position line is missing, Profit reports it this when saving the position allocation.
