Theme editor InSite & OutSite

A theme determines the appearance of the site. A theme consists of a set of fonts, colours and colour transitions which are applied to the menu, banners, buttons, views, text, etc.

You can use multiple themes, for example a special theme for Valentine's Day, promotions, public holidays, etc. When you apply a different theme to your site, the appearance of the site changes immediately. Themes are important for the house style of the site.

Description

An environment can have several themes. These themes are available in all sites (InSite and OutSite), but on each site only one theme can be active. The active theme determines the appearance of the site. You cannot combine themes. Each theme is an independent set of colours, fonts, buttons, etc.

A theme consists of the following parts:

  • Default colours
  • Fonts for text styles
  • Menu settings
  • Layout of banners (list only, drop-down list and buttons)
  • Backgrounds of zones
  • Appearance of special parts, such as overviews, calendars and occupancy overviews.
  • Shape and colour of your own buttons (as of Update 2016.2.06)

Show a theme to a visitor

Depending on the role of a visitor a theme is displayed on the site.

Which theme a visitor to the site sees, is determined as follows:

  • Visitors of the site

The visitor sees the active theme. Site visitors always see the published version of this theme. If you are still working on a draft, it is only shown after publishing the draft.

  • Site administrators

A site administrator sees the activated theme. A site administrator can edit this theme or another theme. While editing a theme, you use a draft of the theme and any changes to this draft are visible on your site.
