Basic discount (purchase)

A basic discount is a general discount. You therefore do not add this basic discount to a specific purchase contact or group of purchase contacts (discount group), but it is valid for all purchase contacts.

Profit automatically adds a basic discount to the default discount group 'Default' (*****).

The basic discount has the lowest priority in the discount level structure. This means that if discounts are recorded at a higher level, for example, a promotional discount in a discount group, then this discount has priority over the basic discount.

The wizard for adding a basic discount is the same whether you are adding a basic discount or adding a basic discount to a discount group or adding a discount agreement at the purchase contact level,

You can use the wizard for a new discount to add a basic discount or you can use the Maintain action. If you use the wizard for a new discount to add a basic discount then Profit will lead you through the data.

You can maintain (basic) discounts using an entry layout that provides you with an overview of (a selection of) all current (basic) discounts. Here, you can enter multiple basic discounts in one time.

To add a basic discount:

  1. Go to:  Order Management / Purchase / Price/Discount / Basic discount.
  2. Click on:  New if you want to add one discount or want to be taken through all the fields.

    Follow the procedure described in Add a basic discount (sales).

or

  1. Click on the action:  Maintain if you want to add multiple discounts.

    Then follow the procedure described in Maintain a basic discount (sales).
