Configure data collection alert destination field
Profit can generate an alert for the employee or user who is added to the data collection as a field. This allows you to send an alert via InSite or as an e-mail message (an e-mail address for the employee/user must be known in order to do this).
Example:
You use alerts based on the absence of the employee. These alerts go to the human resources group and to the employee's manager also.
The employee also receives these alerts. To do this, create a new destination, using the Employee field from the data collection as the destination. As a result of this, the employees can also see alerts that relate to themselves.
You can also use this method to configure substitutes as the alert destination.
Configure data collection alert destination field:
- Go to: General / Management / Alert / Definition.
- Open the properties of the alert.
- Go to the tab: Destination.
- Click on: New.
- Select Field from data collection in Destination type.
- Add the field to the data collection.
- Click on: Modify (in the Data collection frame).
- Add the field to the data collection.
- Click on Next several times and then click on Finish to complete the wizard.
- Select the Field field in the Alert destination frame.
Add the Employee or User field to the e-mail destination also (and not an 'e-mail' field). Profit uses the e-mail address of the employee or user when generating alerts.
- Click on: Finish.
