Add an account level
You add your own account levels to your environment.
To add an account level:
- Go to: Financial / Ledger / Configuration / Account level.
- Click on: New.
- Enter the number after which a subtotal is to be generated in the overviews in the Account number to field. This does not need to be an existing ledger account; if the account number does not exist, the subtotal is displayed after the last available ledger account.
- Enter a level for the subtotal.
Level 1 is the lowest (most detailed) level, level 9 is the highest level. Level 9 should only be used for the totals in the ledger. It is impossible to change a level code after-the-fact.
In defining the subtotals in the overviews, the balances of the accounts are accumulated starting with the preceding equal or higher level. This means that on level 1 all balances of the ledger accounts are summed starting with the preceding level 1 or higher. At level 2 all balances of the ledger accounts are summed starting with the preceding level 2 or higher, whereby the summations at the lower level (i.e. level 1) are ignored, etc.
- In the Account on overview field, you enter the number you want to display on the various overviews (such as the trial balance).
- Enter the description.
- Click on: Finish.
