Resolve a general InSite and OutSite error message

If a user sees a general error message with the text below, you can use the environment log to find the full message.

To look up an error message:

The message has been minimised as much as possible because of, for example, security reasons. The full message is more extensive; you can consult it as follows:

  1. Open Profit.
  2. Open the environment where the site is present.
  3. Go to: General / In & OutSite / Site.
  4. Open the properties of the site.
  5. Go to the tab: Log.
  6. Find the reference in the Reference column.
  7. You can retrieve a window with information at the Message and Details columns. Click in the field with the message and an information button will appear on the right of the field. Click the information button to view the full text.
  8. You may have to submit an incident when there are error messages. In this case, copy the full message and paste it in the incident.

     Note:

    The log contains many information messages. They are messages that are registered by default during, for example, publishing or editing the site. They are messages such as 'Sync actions found' and 'Web.config updated'. They are not errors and usually no action is required.
