View the status of an order with stock shortage and an order proposal

When the sales contact calls you, it is important that you know the status of the sales order.

If you add a sales order and there is a stock shortage or you have have manually transferred the line to an order proposal, then this is shown in the article line.

To achieve this, you need to configure the stock check (stringent or economic stock check setting) in combination with the order proposal for the article. Furthermore, at least the Pending order quantity and Reserved for purchase fields must have been added to the entry layout.

As soon as a line in a sales order is passed on to an order proposal, you see the quantity in the Pending order quantity field. As soon as the line for the order proposal is generated, the quantity moves from Pending order quantity to Reserved for purchase.

To view the status of the order line before generating the order proposal:

For the article, a stock shortage has been detected. You have transferred the whole line to the order proposal. However, the order proposal has not been generated yet. You can see this in the status of the sales order line.

1. Go to: Order Management / Sales process / Sales order.
2. Select the sales order.

   

   You see that the Pending order quantity field is completed but the Reserved for purchase field is not completed yet.

3. Close the order.

Generate the order proposal:

1. Generate the order proposal for this article with a stock shortage and the correct order proposal settings.

View the status of the sales order once again:

After the order proposal has been generated, the sales order line changes. If the order proposal has been converted to a purchase order, the Pending order field is set to zero and the Reserved for purchase field is filled with the quantity from the order proposal. The sales order and the purchase order are now linked! You can tell the sales contact that the article has been ordered.

1. Go to: Order Management / Sales process / Sales order.
2. Open the sales order.

   

3. Close the sales order.
