Set up the communication environment
Communication via the communication service always takes place via one specific environment. You use this to send and receive messages.
If you have multiple environments, you can designate one environment as the communication environment. The other environments are sub-environments and point to the communication environment. The properties of a communication profile show which environment serves as the communication environment.
If you have a single environment, use it as the communication environment.
Exceptions
- The central communication environment is not used for the following communication profiles. Register the correct settings for each environment.
- Process e-invoices using e-mail or from a folder (MUBL)
- Communication with Bank Integration Service (CBI)
- Company and address information (CCI)
- For Communication with eVerbinding (EVE) you decide whether you use the central communication environment, the current environment or another environment.
For EKAs and SBAs using Profit Fiscal, please refer to the comment.
Multiple communication environments
Most organisations need only one communication environment. If you want to use multiple communication environments, you require a mailbox for each communication environment.
Note:
It is recommended that you do not change the communication environment once you have started to exchange messages.
Should it nevertheless be necessary to switch to another communication environment, you must ensure that there are no communication messages in transit. You can verify this by starting up the General / Management / Tax authority exchange / Send and receive function several times. This transmits messages that are ready for sending and receives any return messages. After this you must not prepare any new messages (such as a VAT declaration, the wage declaration, tax declarations) until the communication environment and the sub-environments are fully configured.
Restore a backup
When you restore a backup of a communication environment under a different name, the new environment can be automatically set as the communication environment instead of the old communication environment. You need to authorise this before the backup is restored.
To record the communication environment and sub-environments:
- Open the environment you want to use as the communication environment.
- Go to: General / Environment / Management / Properties.
- Go to the tab: General.
- Select [Current environment] in Communication environment.
- Click on: OK.
- Open the sub-environment that should point to the communication environment.
- Go to: General / Environment / Management / Properties.
- Go to the tab: General.
- Select the communication environment in the Communication environment field.
Note:
The required communication profile must have been unblocked in the communication environment and in the subenvironment.
- Click on: OK.
