Purchase contact/creditor
You enter all (potential) suppliers from whom you purchase goods and/or services in Profit as a purchase contact/creditor.
Description
You record purchase contacts/creditors and possible future creditors as creditors in Profit. You can easily convert a potential creditor into a creditor by selecting the Is creditor check box and then adding the missing financial data, such as the payment condition, VAT duty and the summary account.
A creditor is always based on an organisation or person. General information such as name, search name, address, postal address and communication data is recorded at the organisation or person level. At the creditor level, you record specific information that is required for invoicing and invoice payment.
You record some of the data for the invoicing at a higher level, in the Purchase contact profile. This is data such as the reports that are used for the order process. You then link the Purchase contact profile to the creditor in question.
Preparation
- Creditor profile
A purchase contact profile contains settings applicable to all purchase contacts/creditors linked to the profile. This allows you to manage various settings for purchase contacts/creditors in a profile, meaning you do not have to record them for each purchase contact/creditor.
