Configuration of Exchange synchronisation (on premise / local Exchange server)
This page applies to all of the Exchange supported by AFAS, when using a local installation of the Exchange server.
You configure the Exchange integration for Microsoft Exchange. For this, one user should be granted rights to all calenders in the organisation. You link this user in Profit.
Explanation of impersonate user
Note:
With a local Exchange, it can be necessary to add the Ip address 185.46.182.1 (hostname proxy.afas.online) tot the allowlist. See also IP-adressen, URL's en ciphers.
Configure the Synchronisation in Profit:
- Go to: General / Environment / Management / Properties.
- Go to the tab: Exchange/Outlook.
- Select Microsoft Exchange at Sync. Profit Calendar with.
- Select the Exchange version.
Note:
For each version, there's an indication of the Service Pack (SP1, SP2, etc.) required. Make sure you always select the correct Service Pack.
- Do not enable Auto discover service is enabled.
- At MS Exchange server, enter the address of the domain name of the Exchange server (that can be reached externally).
Do you get a message that the server doesn't exist or can't be found?
- If the address hasn't been used before in combination with AFAS Online, then perhaps the address should be placed on the allow list. Submit an incident to request allowlisting the domain name of the Exchange address for AFAS Online.
- Test the Exchange server with the Remote connectivity analyzer from Microsoft.
- Don't you know the address of the domain name of the server? Enable Auto discover service is ingeschakeld to retrieve the data of the Exchange server automatically, using the linked Exchange user. This isn't the preferred method, as many customer specific addresses need to be contacted and the all need to be allowlisted first.
- You should always enter the field E-mail DNS. This is the part to the right of @. If the e-mail address is jim@enyoi.com, you enter enyoi.com.
- Enter the data of the user with rights to all calenders at MS Exchange user.
- Click on: OK.
Enter E-mail address for the Exchange link:
Normally, Profit will use a combination of the Profit user name and the MS Exchange server entered in the environment settings for the synchronisation. For example:user DMARTINA with the 'Afas.nl' server is transferred into DMARTINA@Afas.nl.
For the Exchange link however, you enter the e-mail address seperately for each user.
- Go to: General / Management / Authorisation tool.
- Go to the tab: User maintenance.
- Open the user properties.
- Go to the tab: General.
- Enter the deviating e-mail address, this must be a valid address.
