Logging of digital signatures
You use the workflow to sign the attachments to a dossier item. Once this process is finished, the dossier item contains the most recent version of all signed documents, including the digital signatures. You can always view the signatures by opening a document. In addition, all signing actions are logged in the SignServiceLog.pdf document. This document is also saved as an attachment to the dossier item.
Once the document has been signed digitally by the first signatory, the signed document is saved and sealed. If a digitally signed document is changed in any way, the seal is broken and the digital signature expires. This is immediately visible to any person who can view the document.
To view digitally signed documents in InSite or OutSite:
- Open the dossier item with the digitally signed documents.
You see the digitally signed documents (always in PDF format) and the SignServiceLog.pdf log document.

- In a digitally signed document, you see so-called 'stamps' of all signatures at the top:

- If you open the document in Acrobat Reader, you see a separate panel with the details of the digital signature. Not all PDF readers can show this information.
- In the SignServiceLog.pdf document, you see the complete audit trail of the signing process.

To view a dossier item in Profit Windows:
- Open the dossier item.
- On the Attachments tab, you see all attachments, including the log file.
- On the Workflow tab, you see the workflow actions that have been performed.
