Absence

Absence concerns (partial) absence as the result of sickness, maternity leave or an (industrial) accident.

Description

You can report sick and recovered yourself as an employee in InSite. We call this Employee Self Service (ESS). A sickness entry in InSite usually has a workflow linked to it that informs the manager about the employee's sickness entry. The manager can then take action, for example contact the employee about the nature of the sickness and the expected recovery date.

Changing a sickness entry is done in Profit Windows. Changes can include a special action required for the 'Arbo' service or reporting a partial recovery.

Profit automatically registers absence in the timetable calendar. In the timetable calendar, Profit tracks the presence and absence of employees based on the timetable, leave entries and absence entries.

  • Employees with a specified timetable (fixed working hours).

Profit automatically determines the number of hours on the basis of the timetable. Days closed, days of sickness, breaks and scheduled 'ATV' days are not included.

If the timetable changes after the absence entry has been recorded, Profit also adjusts the number of hours in the absence entry.

Profit registers the sick days in the absence calendar so that the calendar provides a complete overview of the occupancy. The days that the employee does not work (because he is not scheduled to work or because it is a day closed) are seen as sickness days with a number of hours of 0.

  • Employees with a variable work pattern (no fixed working hours)

Profit estimates the number of hours based on the average number of hours per day. You must always check this and you can change it.

Profit registers the absence entry in the timetable calendar by distributing the number of hours across the days of the absence entry.

    Note:

With regard to the integration with actual costing, the following applies: on days closed Profit will not generate any actual costing lines as a result of leave and/or absence entries.

The timetable calendar is also updated in case of partial absence. Partial absence occurs when the employee is present for some of the working hours, possibly on an occupational therapy basis. In this situation, you enter the presence percentage and the number of hours in the absence entry. You can also specify the presence in the absence entry in more detail by entering working hours. Profit will also register this data in the timetable calendar.
