Block an employee

You can (temporarily) block employees in Profit. This means you are not able to enter leave or illness for an employee. However, you can still generate an annual statement for the blocked employee.

Your licence determines the maximum number of employees that you can record in Profit. Profit compares the maximum number of employees based on the licence with the number of employees in all environments.

Only employees with a current contract count towards the licence. In addition, there are some extra conditions. See the explanation of Licence and count of licence numbers. Under the following conditions an employee counts toward the licence count:

  • The Budget environment HR/Payroll functionality is not activated in the environment.
  • The employee has a current contract and the Employee type field in the properties of the current contract contains one of the following values:
    • Member of staff
    • Employer - with salary
    • Placement - with salary
    • Expat

To block an employee:

  1. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee.
  2. Open the properties of the employee.
  3. Select the Blocked check box.
  4. If necessary, modify the Status field.

The Status field is an information field. Profit considers an employee to be employed if the employee has a current employment. The Status field is disregarded in this case.

  5. Click on: OK.

Blocked employees still appear in analyses and reports. If you do not want to see blocked employees in reports and analyses, then place a filter on the report or analysis in question.
