Add an employee contract (Belgium)

Note:

This procedure applies if you have activated Belgium (functionality).

You can extend the contract of an employee by adding a new contract line.

The most important reasons for a new contract line are a contract extension or the conversion of a full-time contract to a part-time contract or vice versa. If there are any other changes with a specific start date, you can also add a contract line.

If the previous contract line does not yet have an end date, then it is automatically entered by Profit (it is set to the day before the start date of the new contract). The values from the old contract are automatically copied to the new contract, but you can change most values.

Exceptions:

  • In case of the start and end of employment a new contract line is created, but you can use the 'Start of employment wizard' and the 'End of employment wizard' for this.
  • If the employee is now employed by a different employer, you must always report the employment end at the old employer and report the employment start at the new employer.

If you add a contract, timetable or job line, Profit will automatically add a salary line with the start date of the contract, timetable or job line. In this situation, the new line is a copy of the previous line.

To add a contract:

  1. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee.
  2. Open the properties of the employee.
  3. Go to the tab: Contract.
  4. Click on: New.
  5. Enter the Contract start date.
  6. Press: Tab.

Since the employee retains the same employment, you cannot change Employee type and Employer. You report the employee's end of employment and then report the employee's start of employment.

    Note:

You can change the Employed (re. seniority) value by adding career history lines.

  7. Click on: Finish.
  8. Open the properties of the contract.
  9. Go to the tab: Employers' social-accounting secretariat.
  10. Enter the number that the employers' social-accounting secretariat has assigned to the employee.
  11. Select the contract category.
  12. Select the duration of the contract in Fixed-term contract.
  13. Select the employment in Full-time/part-time.
  14. Enter the end date of severance pay.
  15. Determine whether the employee is subject to occupational medicine.
  16. Go to the tab: Social security.
  17. Determine whether 'RSZ' applies.
  18. Determine whether Subject to spec. soc. benefits applies.
  19. Click on: OK.
