Twitter plug-ins

You can add different Twitter plug-ins. You can add the tweet/share and hashtag buttons to a page. If a user clicks on this, he can send a tweet. The visitor follows the linked user via the Follow button.

You can add a timeline to a Twitter profile so that the visitors see the (recent) messages all at once.Finally, you can link a Twitter search term by which the visitor gets an overview of the tweets for the specified search term.

Twitter tweet/share/hashtag buttons

You can add the tweet/share and hashtag buttons to a page. If a user clicks on this, he can send a tweet. You can only add one button each time.

To add twitter tweet/share/hashtag buttons:

  1. Log on and start Site management.
  2. Click on: Edit (in the Page frame).
  3. With your mouse, click the position where you want to add the twitter/tweet/share/hashtag buttons.

    You can also click Layout.

  4. Click on: Plug-ins.
  5. Click on: Twitter tweet/share/hashtag buttons.
  6. Select the Show component frame and title check box if you want to display this data.
  7. Enter a value in Html block.
    • In this field, copy the HTML code from your Twitter account. For example, to add the share button, go to https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons.
    • Select 'Share a link' (or another button).
    • Copy the HTML code
    • Go back to InSite.
    • Paste this value in the HTML block.
  8. Complete the remaining fields.

    The height and the width depend on the settings of the plug-in. We cannot decide these for you. If you specify a height of 450 px for the plug-in then you need to specify this here. If you then specify a height of 300 px in the site, the plug-in is clipped.

  9. Click on: Create.
  10. Click on: Publish.

    If the visitor clicks the Tweet button, twitter.com opens. The visitor can now log on and tweet the page directly.

Add Twitter follow

You can add the Follow button from Twitter to a page. When the visitor clicks on the button, the visitor will follow the linked user.

To add a Twitter follow:

  1. Log on and start Site management.
  2. Click on: Edit (in the Page frame).
  3. Use the mouse to click the position where you want to add the twitter follow button.

    You can also click Layout.

  4. Click on: Plug-ins.
  5. Click on: Twitter follow.
  6. Select the Show component frame and title check box if you want to display this data.
  7. Enter the user/company that visitors can follow via this page.

    You can only complete this field if you have not selected a social media plug-in.

    For example: @Afas.

  8. Select the Counter check box if you want to display the number of followers.
  9. Indicate whether you want to display the large Follow button.

    If you select this, the name of the user is displayed in the button.

  10. Complete the remaining fields.

  11. Click on: Create.
  12. Click on: Publish.

    If the visitor clicks on the Follow button, he opens twitter.com. The visitor can then log on and follow the set visitor directly.

Add a Twitter timeline

You can add a timeline to a Twitter profile so that the visitors see the (recent) messages all at once.

if you have a Twitter account, you can add widgets to it. One of the widgets is the timeline.

To add a Twitter timeline:

  1. Log on and start Site management.
  2. Click on: Edit (in the Page frame).
  3. Use the mouse to click the position where you want to add the timeline.

    You can also click Layout.

  4. Click on: Plug-ins.
  5. Click on: Twitter timeline.
  6. Select the Show component frame and title check box if you want to display this data.
  7. Enter a value in Html block.

    In this field, copy the HTML code from the Twitter account.

    • Open your twitter account.
    • Open the settings for the profile.
    • Click on: Widgets.
    • Click on: Create new.
    • Click on: Timeline of user.
    • Complete the fields.
    • Fill in the Domains field correctly!
    • Click on: Create a widget.
    • Copy the code that appears bottom right.

      If you click in a box, all the text is automatically selected.

  8. Click on: Create.
  9. Click on: Publish.

Add a Twitter search term

You can add a Twitter search term to the page. The visitor then sees an overview with tweets about this search term.

To add a Twitter search term:

  1. Log on and start Site management.
  2. Click on: Edit (in the Page frame).
  3. Use the mouse to click the position where you want to add the search term.

    You can also click Layout.

  4. Click on: Plug-ins.
  5. Click on: Twitter search term.
  6. Select the Show component frame and title check box if you want to display this data.
  7. Enter a value in Html block.
    • Open your twitter account.
    • Open the settings for the profile.
    • Click on: Widgets.
    • Click on: Create new.
    • Click on: Search.
    • For example, enter the search term #afas.
    • Complete the remaining fields.
    • Fill in the Domains field correctly!
    • Click on: Create a widget.
    • Copy the code that appears bottom right.
