Add an experiment in Google (OutSite)
To carry out a conversion measurement, you have to add an experiment in Google.
Note:
When you add the experiment and the conversion measurement, the site must be accessible anonymously. After completion you can make the site secure again.
To add an experiment in Google:
- Go to: www.google.nl/analytics.
- Click on: Standard Reporting.

- Click on: Content / Experiments.

- Enter the page you want to improve (the original page).

- Click on: START EXPERIMENTING.
- Enter a name for your experiment.
- Enter the URL for the first variation you want to test. For informational purposes, you can also enter a name, but this is not relevant for Profit.

- Click on: Next Step.
- Click on: Create a new goal.
In a goal, you specify what you want to measure, for example how long visitors remain on a page.
- Select the target.

The names of the pages are not relevant for Profit. The page should not be a draft page.
- Click on: Next Step.
- Select I'll add the experiment code myself.
Google shows the code. Copy all of the code to the Clipboard. In Profit, you only require the code that is displayed on the image in red.

- Click on: Next Step.
Google validates the pages on your website: in doing so, Google checks if your pages contain the code and if the pages work correctly. At this point, this is not the case because you still have to include the code in Profit and republish the website.
- Click on: Skip the validation and continue.
