Round prices/discounts

As a deviation from the default, you can specify that a discount is subtracted directly from the price before it is multiplied with Number.

The exact moment of rounding of a price has an effect on the ultimate line amount. Profit a line amount with the discount disabled by default as: quantity x price x discount = line amount; in this case the rounding takes place at the last moment. You can also choose to calculate the discount on the price first and, after this, multiply it by the quantity; it this case rounding is done at each intermediate step. The difference is minimal.

Example:

Firma Aart purchases 20 pieces at € 9.99. The company gets a 3% discount.

If the Discount calculation on price check box is not selected, the calculation is as follows: 20 x 9.99 x 0.97 = € 193.806. This is rounded to € 193.81.

If the Discount calculation on price check box is selected, then the calculation is as follows: 9.99 x 0.97 = 9.6903. This is rounded to € 9.69. And then: 20 x 9.69 = € 193.80.

The final difference between these two calculation methods is € 0.01.
