You add a category classification. You can link one category classification to multiple fields.

To add a category classification:

  1. Open the analysis:.
  2. Go to the 'Add-ins' menu.
  3. Go to: Profit / Categories.
  4. Click on: New.
  5. Enter a name.
  6. Select the type.
  7. Click on: Next.
  8. Click on: Add.
    • For the first category, specify the lowest value possible for 'From value (including)' op. For example, for a classification on age you use the value 0. For outstanding items you could start with a high negative value.
    • You cannot enter the upper limit, as it is determined by the 'From value (including)' of the next line.
    • The description will be used later on in the pivot tables. For example, use '0 - 2000', '2000 - 4000', etc.

  9. Click on: Finish.
Copy

You copy a category classification. You can then adjust it.

To copy a category classification:

  1. Go to the 'Add-ins' menu.
  2. Go to: Profit / Categories.
  3. Click on: New.
  4. Enter the description.
  5. Click on: Copy.
  6. Click on: OK.
Generate

If you want to add a numerical category classification, you can generate it. This is not possible for category classifications of other types.

You can generate up to 200 category lines.

To generate a category classification:

  1. Go to the 'Add-ins' menu.
  2. Go to: Profit / Categories.
  3. Click on: New.
  4. Enter a name.
  5. Select the Numerical type.
  6. Click on: Next.
  7. Click on: Range.
  8. Complete the fields. The Step size is the size of each category.

  9. Click on: OK.

    The categories automatically get a description, but you can change it.

  10. Click on: Finish.
