Application of qualifying days in an absence entry

Per absence entry you determine whether you want to apply qualifying days.

If you deduct qualifying days from the leave balance, you automatically post the leave entry when the absence entry is closed.

To add an absence entry with qualifying days:

  1. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee.
  2. Open the view: Employees (short).
  3. Open the properties of the employee.
  4. Go to the tab: Absence.
  5. Click on: New.
  6. Add an absence entry.
  7. Click on: Next.

However, if qualifying days are not allowed, you cannot change the fields. That is also the case if you have specified a minimum number of absence entries in the CLA/term of employment and the minimum has not been reached yet.

  8. Select the Apply qualifying days check box if you want to apply qualifying days for this employee.
  9. Enter the number of qualifying days and hours. A maximum for this number is specified in the properties of the CLA/term of employment.
  10. Select the Extract qualifying days from leave check box, if you want to deduct the qualifying days from the leave balance.
  11. Select the leave type.
  12. Click on: Finish.

To close an absence entry:

The employee has reported as recovered, so you can close the absence entry.

  1. Select the absence entry.
  2. Click on the action: Close absence.
  3. Enter the end date.
  4. Click on: Finish.
  5. Profit automatically launches a wizard for a new leave entry if you have indicated that you want to take up qualifying days related to the leave.

The new leave entry starts on the start date of the absence entry and is posted to the leave type selected in the absence entry. If the start date is on a day closed (based on the days closed table of the employer), Profit automatically moves it.

You can change the leave entry but Profit does not check if the leave entry matches the original absence entry.

  6. Click on: Finish.
  7. Go to the tab: Leave.

    You see the leave entry.
