Install Profit Application Service

The Profit Application Service must be accessible externally so that the OutSite website can retrieve information via the internet. Because this internet traffic is encrypted, you must have an SSL certificate and you must make the Profit Application Service available via HTTPS (port 443). This may also be a different port address. You set the port address when installing the Profit Application Service.

Points of attention

  • SSL certificate

For a secure connection, a valid certificate is always required. The PAS must be accessible externally via HTTPS. That is why the PAS server must have a valid certificate issued for the external address of the PAS server.

    Example:

    Domain name: https://company.nl

SSL certificate is located on (https://) company.nl

If the address of the PAS server is 'https://company.nl/PAS', the PAS server uses the SSL certificate of 'company.nl'.

If the address of the PAS server is 'https://PAS.company.nl', the PAS server cannot use the SSL certificate of 'company.nl'. In this case you need an SSL certificate for the 'PAS.company.nl' domain or sub-domain. (This can also be a wildcard certificate or multi-domain certificate.)

Note: www. also is a sub-domain, so you need a wildcard certificate for 'www.company.nl/pas' or a specific certificate for 'www.company.nl'.

  • Redirect to an internal server address

If you redirect from an external address to an internal address, you must use the same port.

    Example:

The external address 'PAS.domein.com:447' redirects to 'PASserver.domein.local:447'.

This is a correct redirection. A deviating port number is not allowed.

AFAS Support provides no support for the configuration of the PAS site and making it available.
