Project group

You use project groups to classify projects, for example, in groups of similar projects. You can use this when compiling reports. You can also apply the project groups as a calculation basis for determining rates, validity combinations and to journalise project invoices.

There is no fixed definition of project groups. Because each organisation has its own definition of projects, there can be many project groups.

Example:

  • A construction company may use the project groups 'Road construction' and 'House building'.
  • A service organisation may use the project groups 'Internal' and 'External' or ‘Chargeable' and ‘Not chargeable’, to indicate whether the projects are for the company itself or for an external organisation.
  • The accountancy sector may use year-specific projects which are subdivided into project groups per year.
