A promotional discount is a temporary discount in the form of an amount or percentage that is deducted from the purchase price.

Description
In the level structure for the discounts, the promotional discount has the fourth priority. This means that if discounts are recorded at a higher level, for example a promotional discount in a discount group, then this discount has priority over the promotional discount.
The wizard for adding a promotional discount is the same whether you are adding a promotional discount or adding a promotional discount to a discount group or adding a discount agreement at the purchase contact level,
You can add promotional discounts using the wizard which allows you to set all fields. Alternatively, you can add promotional discounts using the entry layout in which you can add multiple discount records at the same time and maintain an overview of them.
You can also add recurring promotional discounts.
The options and procedures correspond with those for promotional discounts with sales.

As a deviation from the default, you can specify that a discount is subtracted directly from the price before it is multiplied with Number.
Procedure
- Add a promotional discount
When adding a promotional discount, you first make a selection of what you want to create the discount for. Next, you enter the discount and the start date and the end date for the promotional discount. You have the option to calculate the promotional discount, to enter a discount yourself or to add a volume discount. You can also set up how a discount is handled.
- Maintain a promotional discount
You can maintain promotional discounts using an entry layout. This provides you with an overview of (a selection of) all current (promotional) discounts and you can also add new (promotional) discounts directly. Here, you can add multiple (promotional) discounts from within one window, the entry layout.
- Recurring promotional discount (purchase)
You can set up a promotional discount that recurs weekly (repeating) by copying the promotional discounts.
