Make a field mandatory
You can make a field mandatory for all users so that it always needs to be completed.
This field setting applies in New wizards and property windows.
Note:
You can only change administrator settings if you are authorised to do so.
To make a field mandatory:
In this example you make the Sector field mandatory.
- Go to: CRM / Organisation/person / Organisation/person.
- Open the properties of an organisation.
- Go to the tab: Organisation.
- Right-click on the Sector field name.
- Go to the tab: Administrator settings.
- Select the Mandatory check box.
- Click on: OK.
- Click on: Yes. This reopens the environment with the new settings.
To check the field setting:
In this example you check the field setting for the Sector field.
- Go to: CRM / Organisation/person / Organisation/person.
- Open the properties of an organisation.
- Go to the tab: Organisation.
- If the Sector field contains a value, clear it. The field gets a yellow background because it is a mandatory field.
- Click on: Cancel.
