Modify the entry layout for translations
If you have translated the fields of the article descriptions for instance, you can include the Translated item code, Translated item description, Translated extra description and Translated item comment fields in your entry layouts. Depending on the language that is set for the sales contact, you will see the description of the sales contact directly in the entry layout. These fields can also be included in the reports so the fields are also visible in the correct language on the sales order printed/sent.
This only applies to Profit Logistics, not to project cost estimate or actual costing.
To add fields to the entry layout for translation:
- Go to: General / Management / Entry layout.
- Select the entry layout.
- Go to the tab: Line.
- Add the Translated item code, Translated item description, Translated extra description and Translated item comment fields (insofar as you use them), after the Type field.
- Save the entry layout.
You can now add, for example, orders for your foreign sales contacts in which you immediately see the item descriptions and the like in the correct language.
If you add an order, you can no longer change the translated descriptions, etc., in the entry layout.
If you want the report with which you print the sales order to be in another language entirely, add a new report in the language in question. Use a new sales contact profile (such as ‘Profile in English') to link this new report to the foreign contact. In the report you use the Translated description field instead of the default field Description.
