Update the database basic language

You purchase a basic language and import your new licence. After this, you can add a new environment in the new basic language, or convert your existing environment.

Note:

The values/descriptions of supplied tables are always overwritten; custom tables are never translated.

Activate a basic language

To activate a basic language:

If you do not yet have a basic language in your licence, you must buy it first.

1. Please contact Customer Servicetel.: 033 43 43 881.
2. Explain that you would like to expand your licence with a basic language.
3. Customer Service applies this change in the licence administration.
4. Make sure that there are no users still working in Profit.
5. Open Profit.

   Profit gives an alert that there is a new licence.

6. Click on: Yes.

The basic language is now available. You can now convert existing environments.

Conversion to the basic language.

You purchase a basic language and import your new licence. After this, you can add a new environment in the new basic language, or convert your existing environment.

To update the basic language:

1. Go to: Options / Log on as administrator.

   

   Profit shows the user name of the administrator. You added this administrator when you started up Profit for the first time after installation.

2. Enter the administrator's password.
3. Click on: OK.
4. Go to: Management / Environment Manager.
5. Go to the tab: Environments.
6. Select the environments whose translations you want to update.
7. Click on: Options.
8. Select one of these options:
   • Update translation

     Select this option if it appears that not everything has been translated to your basic language after installation of a Build or Update.

   • Translate completely into the basic language

     Select this option when the basic language has been modified in the licence after adding an environment. Profit translates the environment completely into the basic language.

9. Click on: Yes.

While running the translation, the system displays a message that the environment is being translated. After this, the environment is translated.
