Use the Edit mode to correct errors in an import file

You can correct errors by modifying the import file. A special function is available for this.

You can switch to the Edit mode in one of two ways: Via the Open error report action at the start of the import wizard or at the end of the import wizard for the import in which the errors were found.

To correct import file errors via the Edit mode:

1. Complete the import procedure up to the final step.
2. Select the following import file:

   Favorieten\Hulpbestanden\Profit Beheervaardigheden\Functies_Fouten.txt.

3. Check the First line contains fieldnames field. When you import an error file it is possible that it does not have a caption.
4. Click on Check in the final step.

   

5. Open the error file.

   Profit shows a view with all errors found during the technical check.

   

Use the actions to find and resolve errors:

• Write data in ASCII file

  Save the data in an ASCII file. You can open it with a text editor, like Windows Notepad.

• Export of data to Microsoft Excel

  Profit opens Microsoft Excel and places the data in a worksheet.

• Open report file

  You open a report file (with the extension .rep).

• Save report file as...

  You save the data in a report file (with the extension .rep).

• Edit mode

  You edit the data from the import file. When you select a line in the view, you can change it straight away.
