You have a complete view and control over the absence and reintegration process of employees with absence supervision in InSite.
Note:
In accordance with the 'Wet Bescherming Persoonsgegevens', it is not allowed to save medical data in Profit. Take this into account when registering absence. If necessary, consult the Privacy document in the AFAS Service Level Agreement (SLA) on the customer portal.
In InSite, the alerts supplied by default warn you about the actions that you need to perform within the context of the 'Wet Verbetering Poortwachter'. This ensures that a warning is automatically issued via InSite if there is a new case of sickness and then once again after a specific number of days as specified in the 'Wet Verbetering Poortwachter'.
The default alerts automatically start the default workflows for the absence guidance. Thus the person responsible does not need to fill in any forms or print documents for a dossier.
You see different actions within the workflow in the diagram below:
In addition to the above actions, there are more actions during the sickness period that you must perform such as a periodic assessment. All action must be initiated through alerts. The alerts automatically start the linked workflows.
If an employee has a number of absence entries one shortly after the other, this may be a continuous absence. Absence is considered to be continuous if within a period of 28 days before the absence entry another, closed absence entry is present. This creates a chain of absence entries, in which case Profit automatically calculates the total absence duration for all absence entries. If the chain gets broken, the continuous absence stops. For any following absence entry, Profit starts counting again.
If you use the Multiple employments functionality, the following applies: the continuous absence is determined per employee, not per employment.
In the case of continuous absence, Profit automatically selects the Continuous absence check box in absence entries. This rule does not apply if the previous absence entry was maternity leave (in that case, Profit does not select the check box).
In the following situations you must select this check box yourself:
Maternity leave in combination with other absence
If the absence entry has started before the maternity leave and is continued immediately following the maternity leave, with the absence reason being the same.
In this situation you have three absence entries:
First absence entry
Second absence entry (= maternity leave)
Third absence entry (= continuation of the first absence entry).
In the properties of the third absence entry, select the Continuous absence check box.
Future existing case of sickness
If an existing absence entry has already been recorded within 28 calendar days of the absence entry you are recording, this existing absence entry must be considered to be continuous absence. In the properties of the existing absence entry select the Continuous absence check box.
In some cases Profit cannot properly determine the number of continuous absence days. This has the following causes:
The employee's timetable does not match the actual working hours of the employee.
The 'UWV' documentation does not always provide the decisive answer on the correct method. To the 'UWV' the absence end date always is the last day that an employee was actually sick. This can also be a day on which according to the timetable the employee is not working. An employee working from Monday to Wednesday who has recovered from sickness on Friday morning, has recovered on Thursday according to the 'UWV'. However, this employee is likely to only report back to work on the following Monday and then report the recovery.
Profit cannot determine if an absence entry is closed at the end of the last absence day or at the start of the next working day.
Example:
If the absence is closed on a non-timetable day, it makes a difference whether 0.00 or, for example, 9:00 is recorded as the time. If you record 0:00 as the end time, the last day does not count. If you record 9:00, for example, the last day of absence does count.
