Configure a project group manager page in InSite

You can assign a separate job, i.e. project group manager, to a project group. In InSite the project group managers have the opportunity to view projects in great detail, despite the fact that they do not have any direct role in the team of a project. For example, executives or department managers. As a site manager you can maintain these pages for project group managers.

A user logged on as a project group manager can see all the project details on a project page in InSite of which he/she is the project group manager. The same user sees a default page with fewer project details on a project page in InSite, which is not linked to his/her project group and of which he/she is not the project group manager.

Note:

A hierarchy applies to the roles: The project group manager is ranked above a team role. This means that if you are the project group manager of a project, this overrules the settings of a team role.

To add project group managers to a project group:

  1. Go to: Projects / Project / Project group.
  2. Open the properties of the project group.
  3. Go to the tab: Project group manager.

    If this tab is not visible, you still have to authorise it using the Authorisation tool tab.

  4. Click on: New.
  5. Select the check box for one or more project group managers.
  6. Click on: Finish.
  7. Click on: OK.

To configure a Project group manager page in InSite:

  1. Log on and start Site management.
  2. Click on: Projects.

    InSite may have been configured differently for you, in which case the description of the action deviates.

  3. Click on: Pages maintained.
  4. Set the filter to Project in the Page type column if you want to search quicker.

    In the description name for the project pages, you see that the team role is between brackets (), for example Project (Projectgroepmanager) and Project (Interne projectleider).

  5. Select the specific page Project (Projectgroepmanager) for the team role.

    This opens the project group manager page.

  6. Check that the role for this project is Project group manager. On the project group manager page, you see Projectgroep manager at the top left of the window below the menu bar and behind Project you see (Projectgroepmanager) between brackets.

  7. You can personalise and maintain this page for this role by going to Site management. For more information, please refer to the description in Site management.
  8. Click on: Save.
  9. Click on: Publish.
  10. Click on: Yes in the message.
