Add an assembly
After you have created an Production order (the 'order'), you start manufacturing the assembly. Once that is done, you add the Production. With this, each line of the assembly preparation is - as it were - reported as ready. After each line, the stock is updated from 'On order' to 'In stock'.
When entering the quantity, a stock check will be performed that depends on the settings for the assembled item. You can choose to display a question if there is insufficient stock. You can also specify that a negative stock is never or always allowed.
To add an assembly:
- Go to: Order Management / Production / Production slip.
You can also use Order Management / Production / Production order to add the assembly. At the bottom of the window, the Create production slip action is available.
- Click on: New.
- Select the Warehouse.
- Enter the Date created.
- Complete the remaining fields.
- On the line, select the assembled item of the 'assembly’ type.
- If applicable, click on the Locations action to distribute the quantity across the locations in the warehouse.
- Click on: Finish.
If the complete assembly preparation has been realised, the status is set to Completed. If only a part has been realised, the status of the assembly preparation is set to Short-supply.
To add disassembly:
Assembled items can also be disassembled. In this case the stock of the assembled item is reduced while stock entries are made for the parts. Stock entries are made for the stock reduction of the assembled item at the settlement price and for the parts entry at their settlement price. For disassembly, there must be sufficient stock of the assembled item.
You disassemble an assembled article by adding a negative assembly.
