Include a wage component in a wage summary

You can have wage components included in a wage summary. For example, you can sum all wage components that are in some way related to wages to be paid and collect them in one wage summary, such as ‘Wage’. You can use a wage summary for reports, analyses or digital messages, such as a wage declaration.

To include a wage component in a wage summary:

  1. Go to: HR / Payroll / Configuration / Wage summary.
  2. Open the wage summary’s properties.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage components.

Profit shows all activated wage components.

  4. Select the wage component.
  5. Enter a + or - sign in the Change column.
    • The result of the calculation is dependent on the settings of the wage component.
    • In the case of a payment and deduction wage component, the result of the calculation is positive if you enter a + sign and negative if you enter a - sign.
  6. The Year dependent column tells you whether the wage component is included on a year-dependent basis.

You determine yourself whether a wage component contributes on a year-dependent basis. You can change this for your own wage components.

    1. Select the wage component.
    2. Click on the action: Add year dependency.
    3. Click on: Yes.

The wage component is now year-dependent from 2005 onward. If you want to include the wage component starting with or for a specific year, delete the inclusion for the years in which it does not apply. For this purpose, you use the Year back and Year forward actions.

  7. Click on: OK.
Include a wage component in a wage summary

The advantage of including calculation bases and wage components is that you can exclude a wage component that contributes to a calculation basis from the wage summary by including the calculation basis (‘+’) and then including the wage component negatively (‘-’).

Including calculation bases has a number of consequences:

  • If you include multiple calculation bases in a wage summary it is possible for certain wage components to contribute multiple times.
  • If you include a calculation basis and a wage component in a wage summary, it is possible for a wage component to be counted twice.

To include a calculation basis in a wage summary:

  1. Go to: HR / Payroll / Configuration / Wage summary.
  2. Open the wage summary’s properties.
  3. Go to the tab: Calculation basis.
    1. Click on: New.
    2. In Calculation basis select the calculation basis that you want to include in the wage summary.
    3. In Calculation indicate whether the calculation basis is to make a positive (+) or negative (-) contribution.
    4. Click on: Finish.
  4. Click on: OK.
Include parameters in a wage summary

It is also possible to include parameters in wage summaries. This makes it possible to print figures (such as hours or days) on lists.

It is not possible to include the following parameters in a wage summary:

  • Parameters of the Yes/No type or of the Code table type.
  • Parameters that are linked to a wage component. The result of a wage component is also always written to a parameter. In view of the fact that the result is not written if a parameter is linked to an unused wage component, this can produce undesirable results.

To include parameters in a wage summary:

  1. Go to: HR / Payroll / Configuration / Wage summary.
  2. Open the wage summary’s properties.
  3. Go to the tab: Parameters.
    1. Click on: New.
    2. In Number component select the wage component that contains the parameter that you are including in the wage summary.
    3. In Parameter select the parameter that you want to include in the wage summary.
    4. In Calculation indicate whether the parameter is to make a positive (+) or negative (-) contribution.
    5. Click on: Finish.
  4. Click on: OK.
