Paid parental leave
In primary education, an employee with an employment of 1 FTE is entitled to 415 hours of paid parental leave per child (between 0 and 8 years old).
The following wage components are available for this purpose:
- 'Primair onderwijs’: 161.170.203 'Uren betaald ouderschapsverlof'
- 'Voortgezet onderwijs’: 161.192.530 'Uren betaald ouderschapsverlof'
The 'Uren betaald ouderschapsverlof' wage component behaves in a way that is different from the 'Ouderschapsverlof uren' wage component that you use for unpaid parental leave. The difference is:
- 'Ouderschapsverlof uren' works with an average number of hours per week.
- 'Uren betaald ouderschapsverlof' works with a total number of hours per month.
If you enter a fixed value on the 'Uren betaald ouderschapsverlof wage component, the ratio between 'Salaris (Uit uren gewerkt)' and 'Salaris (Uit uren betaald ouderschapsverlof)' in the wage calculation is different for every month. This is because the actual number of hours on Mondays + Tuesdays + Wednesdays + Thursdays + Fridays is different every month.
To avoid this, the number of hours of paid parental leave per month must be determined and entered as a wage entry.
To record paid parental leave:
- Go to: HR / Payroll / Enter wage entry.
- Select the employer.
- Select the employee.
- Select the period table.
- Select the year and the period.
- Click on the action: F5. Select.
- Select the 'Uren betaald ouderschapsverlof' wage component.
- Enter a value.
