Report the WIP partially complete
You can report the completion of part of the work in progress. You can do this in two ways:
- Per line:
You specify per cost and revenue line which lines you want to report complete.
- Per amount
You specify which amount of the costs and revenues can be reported as referring to completed WIP.
Note:
If you first report an amount complete, followed by a line, the sum of the cost price/revenue for the selected lines may be higher than the amount on the balance sheet. This is caused by the fact that the lines and the amount on the balance sheet are no longer linked. In this case, you receive an error message. You can now select lines for which the sum is lower than the outstanding amount or report the appropriate amount as referring to completed WIP using the Cancel current selection WIP function.
To report the WIP complete per line:
- Go to: Projects / Invoicing / Cancel WIP.
- Select the project..
- Click on the action:Sign off WIP per line.
- Click on: Next.
- Click on: Finish.
The sum of the cost price amounts for the selected actual costing lines is reported as referring to completed WIP per project. If this entry is journalised, the following journal entry is created:
Project cost price
To
Costs of work in progress
The sum of the revenue amounts for the selected revenue lines is also reported as referring to completed WIP. If this entry is journalised, the following journal entry is created:
Revenue of work in progress
To
Project revenue
Use the Totalizer to calculate the totals of the selected lines. It is not possible to use a counter in the view.
To report an amount as referring to completed WIP:
- Go to: Projects / Invoicing / Cancel WIP.
- Select the projects for which you want to report lines complete.
- Click on the action: Cancel current selection WIP.
- Complete the fields.
If you do not enter a deviating amount, the entire amount will be reported as referring to completed WIP.
- Click on: Finish.
An entry for the costs and revenues is now added per project.
