Add a sales order to multiple warehouses
If you use multiple warehouses and articles can be stored in more than one warehouse, you want to be able to see in which warehouse you have sufficient stock for an order line. You also want to be able to use a different warehouse in the sales order line than is specified in the header (preferred warehouse of the purchase/sales contact).
To perform this procedure, you must have already configured multiple warehouses.
Initially, only the stock of the article to be sold in the warehouse that is specified in the entry layout header is checked in the sales order. This may result in a message that there is insufficient stock even though there is enough stock in another warehouse.
You can permit a warehouse other than the one set in the header to be shown and used in order lines.
You can also import the deviating warehouse into the line. This applies to all order management imports, from purchase orders to packing slips, except for the invoice. The deviating warehouse in the line is only permitted for articles/assembled item containing stock and on the sales side for explosion assembled items. You can also import the deviating warehouse into the line using the UpdateConnectors.
To change the entry layout in order to be able to work with the deviating warehouses in the line:
- Go to: General / Management / Entry layout.
- Open the entry layout. for the order or, for example, the packing slip.
- Go to the tab: General settings. For the packing slip, go to the Instellingen 2 sub tab.
- Select the Deviating warehouse allowed check box, if it is not yet selected.
- Go to the tab: Line.
- Open the Line fields on the left.
- Drag the Warehouse field to Line layout, after Number.
- Go to the tab: Footer.
- Open the General fields on the left.
- Drag the In stock (warehouse) field to a position on the Stock tab layout.

- Click on: New.

- Add a line with an article. Under In stock (warehouse), in the entry layout footer, you see the stock that is in the warehouse specified in the header.
- Change the warehouse on the line; In stock (warehouse) in the footer now shows the stock in the warehouse that you selected.
- Add another sales order line. You can set a different warehouse for each sales order line.
- Complete the order.
