Examples of subscriptions configuration
For your information and to help you when adding a subscription for a sales contact a number of practical examples are shown below.

Before you start adding subscriptions, you must think carefully about the configuration. You can only make limited changes to a subscription. After you have started invoicing, you can no longer change the invoicing cycle.
Procedure

In this example you will add a subscription to an invoice cycle for a month (M1) where the first month is free.
- Monthly invoice cycle (M1) - invoice immediately
In this example you will add a subscription to an invoice cycle for a month (M1) where the first month is not free.
- Monthly invoice cycle (M1) - invoice date later
In this example you will add a subscription to an invoice cycle for a month (M1) where the first month is not free and for which you will invoice immediately.
- Monthly invoice cycle (M1) - invoice pro rata
In this example you will invoice a subscription with an invoice cycle of one month (M1) where the first month is not free and you invoice the remainder for April pro rata.
- Six-monthly invoice cycle (M6)
In this example you will add a subscription to an invoice cycle for six months (M6).
- Invoice cycle of one year (Y1) - invoice entire year
In this example, you add a subscription with an invoice cycle of one year (Y1), where you invoice the annual amount every year.
- Invoice cycle of one year (Y1) - first year pro rata, invoice entire year for subsequent years
In this example you add a subscription with an invoice cycle of one year (Y1), where you calculate the first year on a pro rata basis and invoice subsequent years in full.
