Cache

While working in Profit, Profit automatically maintains a cache on your workstation or terminal server. It may be necessary to rebuild the cache. The cache contains all sorts of information about working with Profit, such as the layout of views. When necessary, Profit uses the data from cache to reduce the workload on the network and server.

Because of this setup, changes on the server may not always be immediately visible on workstations (it can take 5 - 30 minutes before a change has been applied on all workstations). If you have one application server and want to make changes effective immediately, it usually suffices to restart Profit on the workstations. In addition, you can rebuild the cache in Profit Windows.

Procedure

  • Cache reset

If you perform this action, the cache of the environment on which you are logged in is removed. When a user logs in and starts work, the cache of the functions being used is once again built up.

  • Rebuild user cache

This topic only applies to a client/server situation with several application servers.
