Filter authorisation for employees

If you have Profit HR, you can deploy the Employee Self Service (ESS) or Manager Self Service (MSS). In ESS an employee can view his own data and change it if required or, for example, submit a leave request. In MSS a manager can change the data of the people he manages. Filter authorisation plays an important role here.

Description

In ESS and MSS you grant users access to employee data, for example via HR / Employee / Employee or via InSite. This function offers several views with employee data. These views show all the employees, unless you use filter authorisation. You can then assign the right tab and action authorisation. This section relates to filter authorisation; menu, tab and action authorisation is performed in the default manner.

Extended example

Below is an example of filter authorisation:

Explanation:

  • Management

You apply a filter that lets through all the employees.

  • PZ

This department has access to all the employees, except employees at layer 0 (= Management). You can also achieve this via the filter:

    Print <> Management

  • Managers

Every manager has access to the people they manage (employees of their organisational units). Based on the Eigen medewerkergegevens filter, a manager also has the right to access his own data.

  • Employees

The Alleen eigen gegevens filter is linked to the Everybody group, as a result of which all users are at least entitled to access their own employee data.

    Note:

If you are using the 'Multiple simultaneous employments' functionality, the following applies: for an employee with multiple employments, the [OU] tag always yields the organisational unit of the main employment.

With the Employee authorisation based on position allocation activation, Profit checks the position lines of the employee, regardless of the nature of the employment. This allows you to authorise for both main and sub-employments.
